The Torzon Access Manual —
Refined and Complete
Four clear steps from a standard browser to a fully configured Torzon session. Estimated time: fifteen minutes on a first run, under five on every return visit.
Tor Browser
Torzon Market operates exclusively on the Tor anonymity network. Standard browsers cannot resolve .onion addresses. Tor Browser is the only required tool — it handles circuit construction, DNS isolation, and JavaScript sandboxing in a single download.
- Download Tor Browser from torproject.org. Choose the build for your platform (Windows, macOS, or Linux). Download the .asc signature file alongside it — both are listed on the same download page.
- Verify the GPG signature before opening the installer. Import the Tor Project's signing key and confirm the fingerprint matches the one published at torproject.org/verify.gpg --auto-key-locate nodefault, wkd --locate-keys torbrowser@torproject.org gpg --verify tor-browser-linux-x86_64-13.5.6.tar.xz.ascExpect "Good signature from The Tor Project". Any other result — delete the download.
- Launch Tor Browser and click Connect. The initial Tor circuit builds in 8-15 seconds. A green onion icon in the toolbar confirms an active circuit.
- Set Security Level to Safest. Click the shield icon → "Change Security Settings" → Safest. This disables JavaScript on standard websites and reduces browser fingerprinting surface area. On .onion sites the transport layer handles anonymity directly.
Connecting to Torzon
With Tor Browser connected, reaching Torzon requires pasting the verified address and completing a two-part authentication flow: a proof-of-work challenge gate, and a login with 2FA on every subsequent visit.
- Copy a verified address from the verified links page — or directly from a PGP-signed market announcement on Dread. Never use an address sourced from Telegram, Reddit, or any unverifiable channel.
- Paste into Tor Browser's URL bar and press Enter. The PoW challenge runs automatically (2-4 seconds). Do not use a search engine to locate Torzon — no search engine indexes the .onion address. Any search result claiming to be the market is a phishing site.
- Create an account. Username: no personal identifiers, ideally a random string. Password: 16+ characters. There is no account recovery — the market stores nothing that would allow it. Write credentials on paper and store away from the device.
- Enable TOTP 2FA immediately. Account → Security → Two-Factor Auth. Scan the QR with Aegis (Android) or Raivo (iOS). Confirm the six-digit code. All subsequent logins require this token in addition to your password.
- Upload a public PGP key. Account → Profile → PGP Key. This key is used for encrypted vendor communication and optionally for PGP-challenge login. Generate a dedicated key for market use — do not reuse a key linked to your real identity anywhere.
Security Fundamentals
Torzon accepts Monero (XMR) exclusively. The decision reflects the platform's Global reach — buyers and vendors are domestic, and the additional privacy guarantees of Monero reduce exposure in a regulated postal environment. Bitcoin's transparent ledger is considered unsuitable for the platform's threat model.
Payment setup
Download the official Monero GUI wallet from getmonero.org and GPG-verify the binary (same process as Tor Browser). For acquisition, use a peer-to-peer exchange that does not require identity documents — this prevents a fiat-to-crypto link traceable to your identity. Alternatively, Monero ATMs in major verified cities allow cash acquisition with no account required.
| Security practice | Recommended approach |
|---|---|
| Payment currency | XMR only — Bitcoin not accepted |
| XMR acquisition | P2P exchange or Monero ATM (cash, no ID) |
| Delivery address | Encrypt with vendor's PGP key before submitting |
| Communication | Use market's E2E encrypted messages only |
| Identity isolation | Separate username and credentials per market |
| Device hygiene | Dedicated browser profile minimum; Tails USB recommended |
Your First Order
Torzon lists 17,900 items across its product categories, all from the 3,141 verified verified vendors currently active on the platform. A first order should go to a vendor with at least 150 completed transactions and a rating of 4.7 or above — this is the threshold where dispute rates drop to negligible levels according to community tracking on the Torzon Dread subdread.
- Check the vendor profile before the listing. Total sales, rating history, join date, and dispute resolution record are all visible. A 900-sale vendor with a 4.8 rating is a reliable first counterparty. A 15-sale vendor with a 5.0 rating needs closer scrutiny.
- Review escrow terms. All Torzon orders default to platform escrow. "Finalize Early" (FE) releases payment immediately — avoid it on your first order. Escrow provides full recourse if the order doesn't arrive.
- Encrypt your delivery address with the vendor's PGP public key before placing the order:gpg --armor --encrypt --recipient VENDOR_KEY_ID "Your full delivery address"Paste the PGP block into the shipping field. Never submit a plaintext address.
- Fund the XMR escrow address. The market generates a unique subaddress per order. Send the exact amount. Payment confirms after 10 block confirmations (~20 minutes).
- Mark complete or open a dispute before auto-release. When the order arrives, confirm receipt to release escrow. If it doesn't arrive within the vendor's stated delivery window, open a dispute — the auto-release timer on the order page is your deadline.
